Rotary E Club of Bangalore RI Dist 3191 (formerly 3190), India. Rotary E-Club of Bangalore (RECB), the first internet based E-Club of RI District 3190, India, was formed in 2011 - the year Rotary International formally allowed E-Clubs across the Rotary world. Since then, RECB has been a pioneering Rotary Club in various fields of activities. Its continued Global Projects in Avoidable Blindness and International Collaborative Learning Through Rotary (ICLTR) have received accolades. RECB is a leader in India in projects on Women's Health. Our fellowship is full of laughter, with lots of songs and dances.
Chartered on 10th of June 2011, Rotary E Club of Bangalore (RECB) has been the first internet-based Rotary Club of District 3190, and among the first internet-based Rotary Clubs of India. Through the years, RECB has purposefully adopted Rotary’s principle of diversity of classification. Consequently, members of RECB are from a galactic spread of professions - truly representative of the society it serves. Celebration of fellowship and zeal to serve form the fountainhead of the Club’s energy.
Within a short span of time, RECB has carved a niche for itself by its sustained programmes in ‘Avoidable Blindness’ and ‘Women’s Health’ – all through the pioneering work of its members, some of whom are reputed medical professionals. The Club has been active through several other projects encompassing the community, profession, and youth. The Club’s persistent support for uplifting schools for socially weaker sections with infrastructure has been lauded time and again. RECB’s vision and projects have been hailed by several community and Rotary leaders like PRIP Rtn. Kalyan Banerjee, among others.
The global pandemic has thrown severe challenges to society. Under such trying times, members of RECB have rolled up their sleeves, got to the trenches, and served the community with material, resources, and logistics. All goes to show the indomitable spirit of the Club. Rotary E Club of Bangalore, as a relatively young Club, has ‘miles to go’. The vivacity of the members is testimony to its resolve to move forward through service.
